This policy explains what information Loop Guardian collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have about it.
Loop Guardian is an interview-preparation and coaching platform for software engineers. We collect only what we need to run it. The information falls into a few groups.
We use the information above to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
We share data with third-party service providers that process it on our behalf, only as far as each purpose below needs. Each provider is bound by its own privacy terms and by contract with us. The providers we use change over time, so we describe them by what they do rather than by name. Email us if you want the current list.
When a peer books a session with you and your calendar shows a conflict, they are told only that the slot is unavailable. They never see your calendar or its contents.
Your coaches and interviewers see the work, notes, and session records from their coaching work with you. Peer interviewers see only what the session itself exposes.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data.
Loop Guardian's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We use Google Calendar data only to check availability when a peer mock interview is booked and to keep session entries on your Loop Guardian calendar. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. People at Loop Guardian do not read it unless you ask us to, it is needed for security or to investigate abuse, or the law requires it.
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the platform is used. Our authentication provider sets a session cookie that is required for sign-in to work. Analytics cookies help us understand which features are used; you can block them in your browser settings and the platform still works.
We do not use advertising cookies or share cookie data with advertisers.
Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest by our hosting providers. GitHub access tokens are additionally encrypted with a key we control before being stored. Access to production systems is limited to the people who operate the platform. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures and we report incidents that affect you.
Our Security page describes how to report a vulnerability.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Coaching records are kept while you are in the coaching program and for a period afterwards so we can support you if you return. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Error and usage logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.
Your Google Calendar connection lasts until you disconnect it. Disconnect it at any time from Calendar Settings: we ask Google to revoke our access, stop reading and writing your calendars, and mark the connection deleted. Upcoming booked sessions still stand. The Loop Guardian calendar and its entries stay in your Google account, where you can delete them. You can also remove our access from your Google account permissions at any time; we stop using the connection when Google refuses it.
To delete your account, email support@loopguardian.com from the address on the account. We deactivate the account and its sign-in immediately. Your record is marked deleted rather than erased at once, so that a coaching client who changes their mind can ask support to restore their work. You can also ask us to erase your personal information; see Your Rights below. Some records survive deletion: billing records required by law, and anonymised usage statistics that no longer identify you. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and ask for a copy of your data in a portable format. You can revoke Google or GitHub access at any time from those providers, and disconnect GitHub sync or Google Calendar from your settings.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@loopguardian.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Loop Guardian operates from the United States and our providers store data there. If you use the platform from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States. Where the law of your country requires it, we rely on standard contractual clauses with our providers.
The platform is for adults preparing for engineering interviews and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the platform changes. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version. For material changes we will notify you by email or with a notice on the platform before they take effect.
Questions about this policy or about your data: email support@loopguardian.com.
